COURSE DETAILS

Earn 1 CE (CAMFT CE #59405 )

Description:

Most therapists are trained to talk with teens much in the same way they talk to adults, but adolescents naturally speak to each other very differently. Instead of making them speak in the way that is natural to us, therapists can learn to speak in the way that is natural to teens. Learn how this applies to individual and family therapy.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Learn how adolescents naturally communicate to each other and why that matters in how the therapist communicates.

  2. Learn a communication strategy to use in therapy when a teen is overwhelmed.

  3. Learn how this applies when considering when and how to include parents in the adolescent's therapy.
